Victims named in SPX Transformer Solutions accident

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT)-  The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office tells 9 On Your Side two people are dead after an accident Monday afternoon at SPX Transformer Solutions in Goldsboro.

It happened around 6 p.m.

Major Tom Effler says an employee was working in a large transformer and became unresponsive. Two other employees entered the transformer to help the first victim and also became unresponsive.

The two men who died are 51-year-old Dennis Martin and 33-year-old Daniel Anderson.

40-year-old William Sariak is in the intensive care unit at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.

Effler says the industrial commission may investigate further.
