Teen suspect, victim identified in Wilson murder

WILSON, N.C. (WNCT) – A Wilson teenager is behind bars facing murder charges.

Police found 55-year-old Donna Lynne Davis lying in the intersection of Vance Street and Maplewood Avenue Saturday night. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Wilson Police Department has identified 16-year-old Albert Henry Jones III as the suspect in the case.

Deborah Alamn lives down the road the road from the victim. She says the woman and her dog would visit every day.

“She’s a good person. That’s all I can say. She’s a good person. And she obviously trusted someone who wasn’t a good person,” said Deborah Alamn.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Police say Davis died after a physical altercation. They’re still investigating.
