GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – With Thanksgiving and Black Friday over, the attention now shifts to local businesses for small business Saturday. Local shops across the East are gearing up for the crowds.
According to American Express, 77 percent of consumers plan to shop small during the 2015 holiday season, which is great news for small businesses.
“It definitely has different stuff that department stores and other chains don’t offer,” said Addie Mullins, a cashier at UBE in Greenville. “It kind of brings money back to the community, so it helps us all out.”
Stores across the East will be offering deals to entice shoppers in their stores. Catalog Connection in Greenville will be giving away $10 gift cards for every $100 spent.
The holiday shopping season is extremely important in helping local businesses stay open each year.
