JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Jacksonville Police Holiday Task Force kicked off Friday for it’s 16th year in a row to protect you.
The holiday task force is made up of teams of officers in plain clothes working throughout shopping centers all across the city.
The officers will be on foot patrol, bike patrol, and in patrol cars as well.
The goal, “Proactively deter larcenies and thefts and help keep shoppers safe during the holiday season,” said Sgt. Christopher Funcke.
Those in charge say the task force has been very effective in past years and also urge you to help keep an eye out for suspicious activity near malls and shopping centers.
Report what you see to your local law enforcement agency or security agents.
