Pounds of sweet potatoes distributed to those in need

BETHEL, N.C. (WNCT) – Hundreds of pounds of sweet potatoes were donated to feed families in Eastern North Carolina Friday. Group organizers say without donations like these, some community members would go without during the holiday season.

“It means a great deal,” says Bethel Resource Outreach Director Angelina Durham. “It probably means that some people can have a meal opposed to not having one because of income, unemployment. But this is a great blessing to families.”

Squash, potatoes, salad, cakes and muffins and other items were distributed at the event. If you need food or other assistance, click here to learn more about the Churches Outreach Network.
