Salvation Army kicks off bell ringing season

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – The Salvation Army in Greenville starts the bell ringing season.

The fundraiser kicked off on Friday, and will run until December 24th.

“That is our one fundraiser for the year,” said Captain John Sikes of the Salvation Army in Greenville. “A lot of people think that money just goes for Christmas. But that is our one fundraiser for the year that carries our operations for the whole year.”

The money assists families in need, from their bills, to medication and food.

You’ll see bell ringers at Walmart, Harris Teeter, and CVS.
