Washington leads area teams into 4th round of playoffs

WASHINGTON (WNCT) – Washington broke open a close game in the second half and advanced to the 4th round of the NCHSAA state soccer playoffs with a 4-1 win over North Johnston.

Rob Zerniak scored a pair of goals in the Pam Pack win. Washington will now meet the winner of Thursday night’s game between Clinton and Eastern Randolph.

Also on Wednesday night, Swansboro beat Richlands 3-2 and Dixon got past Croatan 2-1 in overtime.

Spring Creek travels to James Kenan and Wallace-Rose Hill hosts Manteo on Thursday night.
