ECU adds 58 pavers to veteran’s memorial

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT) – ECU honored service men and women with a brick paver ceremony. Family members and friends purchased bricks to remember their loved ones who served. 58 bricks were added to ECU’s veteran’s memorial.

Edith Warren honored six family members. Her husband and his brothers served 75 years collectively from 1940 to the 1970s. She says it’s important to show respect for men and women who put their lives on the line for our country.

“Without their service, we would not be able to be free and stand here and celebrate and have conversations about whatever we want to,” Warren said.

Each name was called one by one. Active military members also had the opportunity to share their personal experiences.
