Dozens of veterans honored for service Sunday morning

AYDEN, N.C. (WNCT) – A service in Ayden honored veterans this Sunday morning.

The Anointed One Church of Deliverance International gave thanks to all solders that are alive or deceased. Veterans stood and explained what branch they served in and the years in which they served. Pictures sat in the front of the church to remember some of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Jonathan Waller says it’s important not to forget what active military personnel miss out on each and every day.

“They don’t have the chance to sit down and enjoy time with their families. They can’t sit at the dinner table and eat breakfast. There are so many emotional issues that men and women in the military are going through,” explained Waller.

Waller hopes people pay respect not only on Veterans Day, but on each day of the year.
