GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A Greenville courthouse could be receiving a new name after Congressman G.K. Butterfield proposed a new bill.
Butterfield introduced renaming The U.S. Bankruptcy Courthouse to The Judge Randy D. Doub United States Courthouse.
Randy Doub was an attorney in private practice before he was appointed as U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the eastern district of North Carolina in 2006.
He was known as a hardworking, fair, and compassionate jurist, becoming the Court’s Chief Justice in 2007.
Unfortunately, he died earlier this year at the age of 59.
Butterfield has the N.C. congressional delegation backing him on the proposal.
