New Info: Driver facing charges after hitting Onslow Co school bus

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A driver will be charged with driving left of center after hitting a school bus Wednesday morning.

It happened on Rocky Run Rd. near Rivendale Drive in Onslow County.

School spokeswoman Suzie Ulbrich says the incident took place around 6:30 a.m. She says there were four students on board Exceptional Children buses (Bus #88) heading to Silverdale. No injuries were reported for any of the students or the adults on board.

The bus was not seriously damaged and was able to take the students to the school.

Troopers investigating the accident say a car came around the blind corner on the road and saw traffic stopped in the road, including the bus, hit the brakes and swerved to the left. He was in the passing zone and skidded on the wet road, hitting the bus.

William Parrish, who was operating the 1994 Honda Accord, will be charged with driving left of center. He wasn’t injured in the incident.
