BAYBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – An Alliance man is behind bars after stealing a vehicle and leading several law enforcement agencies on a multi-county chase.
Sheriff Chris Davis with the Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office says it all started late Tuesday night when they received a report about a stolen vehicle on Main Street in Alliance around 10 p.m. A handgun was also reported stolen from the home. They immediately issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) for the vehicle to surrounding law enforcement agencies in adjacent counties.

Even with the tires deflated, the chase continued for about 10 miles at speeds less than 30 mph. The chase ended on Kershaw Road after the suspect, 22-year-old Devonta Respers, wrecked the vehicle in a ditch.
