Police continue to patrol Uptown throughout the night

Officers from across Eastern North Carolina are in Greenville tonight to make sure this year’s Halloween festivities don’t get out of hand.

Hundreds of students filled Uptown Greenville around 10 p.m. tonight and are expected to stay until the bars close at 2 a.m.

If you’re planning to head out to Uptown tonight, you cannot bring .alcohol inside the gates. Fake or real weapons are also not allowed.

There were around 300 police officers working tonight to make sure everyone has a safe and fun Halloween. Students say they’re heading to house parties instead of the bars.

“It’s going to be too crazy here and too many people and it’s basically shut down so they’re going to be IDing people and there’s going to be cops on every street,” explained ECU student Majdlay Moun.

Police will out patrolling all areas tonight. They encourage people to come out to the bars instead of heading to house parties.
