“Booze it and Lose It” on Halloween

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – During Halloween weekend, the Governor’s Highway Safety Program and NC Transportation will implement its annual Booze It and Lose It campaign.

The organizations recommend some simple tips for a safe Halloween if you plan to drink.

Before you put your costume on, plan a way to safely get home by designating a sober driver.
Download a ride app, or use public transportation.
Walking impaired can be just as dangerous as drunk driving, so designate a sober friend to get you home.
If you know someone who is about to drive impaired, take their keys and help them make safe travel arrangements.
If you see a drunk driver, contact law enforcement.
