GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A Greenville facility is temporarily closing its doors for a new facelift, leaving some to find a new place to hangout.
The South Greenville Recreation Center will close its doors Saturday for renovations. The building is home to some after school programs along with a location for people to hang out. The programs have been moved to other locations in Greenville until renovations are complete. Recreation Supervisor, Bershaun Thompson, says the building was built in 1957 and needs the update.
“It’s going to help just to bring some more vision, creativity, excitement. We are going to bring different programs and it’s going to give more opportunity to have more of an open canvas to be creative,” explained Bershaun Thompson.
Thompson says he hopes more people use the facility once it’s completed.
