JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Folks in Jacksonville are preparing for trick or treating.
With many neighborhoods spread out across the city, police are suggesting parents pick a safe place to celebrate.
One of those is Jacksonville’s largest family friendly event held at Discovery Church International.
Organizers set up a security team to ensure everyone has a fun, but safe Halloween.
“With door to door trick or treating, you’re taking a chance obviously,” explained Joann Walker, organizer of Trunk or Treat & Ride. “You’re going to people’s homes you don’t really know, you don’t know what you’re going to encounter. Here, we’ve done our best to ensure everything is safe.”
Some of the activities at Saturday’s Trunk or Treat and Ride event include a dance club, outdoor movie, and to satisfy cravings, food trucks, and nearly 70 trunks filled with thousands of pieces of candy.
Don’t forget the fireworks show to top the night off and it’s all free and open to folks of all ages.
