New Bern’s Farmers Market to stay put for now

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – The New Bern Farmer’s Market will stay in its current location for at least another year. The Farmers Market extended its lease with the city for the land for one year.

In the original lease signed with the New Bern Aldermen in 2012, the Farmers Market had an option for two one year extensions.

In order for the city to cancel that, they would have to give the market at least 12 months notice.

This news comes just before portions of the UNC School of Government’s study looking into several parcels of downtown property is released. The city paid $110,000 for the study to be complete.
