KINSTON, NC (WNCT)- A new park is now open in Kinston. The Kinston Arts Council says the music park is a celebration of African American musical heritage. It is located at the corner of Spring Hill and South Queen Street. Various musicians including Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong used to play in venues near the park. The signature element is as 12 foot high sculpture with images of famous African American musicians. The park is a part of North Carolina’s African American music trail.
