Board of Commissioners approved new fire station for Beaufort

BEAUFORT, N.C. (WNCT)- The Town of Beaufort will soon receive a new fire station after the Board of Commissioners approved a $3.2m construction plan Thursday night.

The new location will be at the corner of Live Oak and Pine Street. Just one block from the existing 50 year old fire station.

The new station will be a 12,563 square foot building. It will feature a training room that can double as an emergency operations center.

It will include admin offices for the Chief, Assistant Chief, and Admin Support.

There will also be sleeping quarters for 6 shift personnel.

So far documents call for a 300 day construction period to build the entire facility.
