Race fans, head out to Carteret County Speedway for some family fun this weekend

SWANSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – Race fans in the east can get excited and head out to Carteret County Motor Speedway this weekend.

Friday and Saturday at the Carteret County Speedway in Swansboro you can meet the drivers and watch them race the Koma Modified Series.

For race car driver Jeremy Mayfield, he says the speedway in Carteret County is just what he needs to pull out a win.

“We need to win a race bad, we’ve ran all year and run pretty good over the season but had our ups and downs, which that’s kind of the story of everybody, but I want to win before the year’s up and this is one of the last races, we got this and myrtle beach, so it’s a great place to win a race,” said Mayfield.

Friday’s event goes until 8 pm and is $10 per person, Saturday’s event starts at 3 pm and lasts until 8 pm and is $15 per person.

Both days will feature meet and greets, food, a DJ and an after party with the drivers.
