Man charged in Winterville shooting

WINTERVILLE, N.C. (WNCT)- A man has been charged in connection with a Winterville shooting incident earlier this month.

Montrell Demond Wilson of Winterville was arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and possession of firearms by a felon.

These charges stem from an incident that occurred on October 8 on Tyson Road at Railroad Street.

Wilson was already in custody from a probation violation relating to weapons charges and awaiting a probationary hearing.

Winterville Police credit community assistance and positive community and police relations in solving this crime. Wilson will appear in court this morning.
