New Info: Police identify teen injured in Kinston shooting

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Police have identified the victim in a shooting in Kinston Wednesday late afternoon.

The shooting happened in the street of the 300 block of Cox Avenue just before 5:30pm.

Sergeant Roland Davis with the Kinston Department of Public Safety identified the man as 17-year-old Carden Herring.

Herring was shot in the left side and transported directly to Vidant Medical in Greenville. There is no word on the man’s condition at this time.

There’s no suspect information currently available.
