Greenville’s new top cop reflects on first month on the job

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Wednesday marks a month on the job for Greenville’s new top cop.

Over the past month, Greenville Police Chief Mark Holtzman says he’s made great connections with the community. He’s already toured several neighborhoods and met residents throughout the city. Citizens had the opportunity to voice their concerns at Coffee with the Chief earlier this month.

Chief Holtzman says even though he hasn’t been here long, it already feels like home.

“I feel grounded already. I really do. There’s a lot of familiarity here to what I’m used to, both in the department and in the community. I’m really impressed with the people I’ve been meeting,” Chief Holtzman said.

Moving forward, Chief Holtzman says he wants to build even better relationships with community partners.
