Durham man charged in fatal Wilson shooting


WILSON, N.C. (WNCT) – Police in Wilson have charged a suspect with the murder of a Raleigh man.

Officers say they were called to Bill’s Convention Center Saturday night just before 11 in reference to a possible shooting. When they arrived at the scene, they found Kelly Wilkerson of Raleigh suffering from several gunshot wounds. Despite the best efforts of Wilson County EMS, they were unable to revive Wilkerson.

They identified 41-year-old Stephen Louis Maddox Jr. of Durham as the suspect in the incident, arrested him, and charged him with First Degree Murder. he was given no bond.
