GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina held off Tulsa 30-17 at home on Saturday.
The Pirates move to 4-3 with the win and capture its tenth straight win on Homecoming.
After a 23-0 Pirate lead through three quarters, Tulsa rallied in the 4th, reeling off 10 straight points.
Zachary Langer rushed for a score and Redford Jones added a field goal to cut it to a 23-10 ECU lead midway through the 4th.
In the first half, James Summers connected with Chris Hairston for a 12-yard score midway through the 2nd quarter to put ECU up 17-0. Davis Plowman added a field goal to give the Pirates a 20-0 lead at the half.
East Carolina found the endzone first thanks to a standout play by Josh Hawkins.
The senior cornerback intercepted Dane Evans in the endzone and returned it 100 yards for the touchdown.
