GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Junius H. Rose set the tone early and never looked back Friday night, beating Eastern Wayne 47-27 on Hall of Fame night in Minges-Farley Athletic Complex.
Receiver Cornell Powell was the spark to Rose’s fire, while respectfully giving partial credit to the needle threader, Ryan Goodwin.
Dontavies Harris, Rose’s running back, had a pair of rushing touchdowns. The first one being five minutes into the game.
Despite the score, Eastern Wayne (2-5-0) never let up. The Warriors out scored the Rampants 14-0 in the fourth quarter.
Austin Hite and Kamone Best were the go-to receivers for The Warriors. Hite having a clutch touchdown, and Best racking up yards after catches.
Quarter back, Ezekiel Best, kept the momentum of the offense up. Connecting for several receptions and adding a decent ground asset for the Warriors.
J.H. Rose (6-2-0) will be back in action on Oct. 30 at C.B. Aycock High School (3-4-0).
