Investigation underway after body found in Greenville

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Greenville Police are investigating after a man’s body was found on the banks of a creek in the city.

A male body was discovered around 1:30 p.m. Friday. Greenville Police say the call came in around 2 p.m. after someone in a nearby neighborhood discovered the body. It was found at the end of Verdant Dr. off of 10th St..

Greenville Police’s Major Crimes unit is investigating. An autopsy on the body is expected early next week. No evidence of foul play is expected.

Police are not releasing the identity of the man at this time.
