Man faces charges in Pinetops hit and run

PINETOPS, N.C. (WNCT) – One man is facing charges after a fatal hit and run over the weekend.

Pinetops Police say 75-year-old Herman Russell Bridges hit and killed 87-year-old Lenzie Moore in the 300 block of North 2nd Street Sunday night.

Police used camera systems within the city to pinpoint the car that swerved at the time Moore was hit. They then identified that vehicle as Bridge’s 1989 Lincoln Towncar. The Pinetops Police Captain says a piece of evidence from the crime scene matches the broken grill and front end damage on Bridge’s car.

Pinetops Police say they always utilize the cameras in the city and they want to thank Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office, NC Highway Patrol and Tarboro Police for assisting in the investigation.
