ECU grad opening homecoming concert

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – ECU’s homecoming concert will kick off at Minges Coliseum Thursday night.

Country music singer Lee Brice is headlining the evening concert, which thousands are expected to attend.

Set up for the concert started Wednesday.

ECU officials say they hope to start holding more concerts on campus to utilize their facilities more.

For one of the opening acts, it’s not just ECU homecoming, it’s her homecoming as well.

ECU grad Emily Minor is set to open the concert after moving to Nashville to start a career in country music. 9 On Your Side caught up with her to ask her about her return to ECU.

“I’m so excited,” said Emily Minor, country artist. “It’s been awhile since I made it back to the Greenville area and I don’t ever get to come to a game, or let alone be here for homecoming. So to be invited back for such a special weekend and get to share a really big moment, you know, I’ve never played an arena before, this is a first.

The homecoming concert kicks off at 7 p.m. with Emily Minor, LoCash, and Lee Brice.
