New Details: Police identify man found stabbed in chest at Kinston gas station

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Police in Kinston have identified a man stabbed at a gas station Monday afternoon.

Officers say it happened around 5 p.m. at the Murphy’s Express located on West Vernon Ave. in Kinston.

When they responded to the scene, they found 38-year-old Carlos Ivan Ramos of Pink Hill suffering from several cuts to his chest and stomach area. He told officers that he was sitting in his vehicle, in the parking area behind the Premiere Theater, when a male suspect that he didn’t know, reached through an open window and stabbed him.

Ramos was taken to Vidant Medical Center via ground ambulance for treatment.
