Thursday car accident in Lenoir Co. leads to fuel leak

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a Thursday afternoon accident that resulted in a fuel spill.

The North Lenoir Fire Department says it happened on the C.F. Harvey Parkway in Kinston.

Emergency crews were dispatched to a car accident just before noon on Thursday.

Firefighters say when they responded to the accident they found a major fuel leak.

Firefighters say a person was also pinned in a car.

Fire crews were able to quickly get the victim out and control the fuel spill.

WNCT has a call out to Highway Patrol for more information on the cause of the accident and the extent of injuries to the people involved.
