GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – All the offense came in the first half and Adam Dietrich’s corner-kick goal proved to be the game-winner as Rose held off Conley 2-1 on Thursday night.
The first time the two squads met this season, September 15, Conley shut out the Rampants 3-0.
But thanks to an aggressive offense and stingy defense, Rose got revenge on its cross-town rival to move to 5-1 in conference play.
Conley struck first just ten minutes into the contest when Gabriel Ochoa netted the game’s first goal on a penalty kick.
The Rampants quickly responded when Thomas Dominick connected on a put-back goal to even the affair at one-apiece.
And less than five minutes before the end of the first half, Dietrich arched a corner-kick above the Conley keeper to put the Rampants in front for good.
