Chinese school principals visit Onslow County schools in hopes of learning teaching methods

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Chinese principals were in the east today visiting Onslow County Schools hoping to learn more about American teaching methods.

Over 45 principals visited Dixon and White Oak Schools learning the culture of American students and the best practices for Onslow County Schools.

The principal at White Oak High School says the partnership they have with the Center for International Understanding is beyond beneficial.

“I think we get to share how we teach, the different ways we do it and the similarities, not so much the differences that we have but the similarities because kids are kids all over the world,” said Jane Dennis.

There are about nine Chinese teachers in Onslow County teaching their language and culture to.
