Carteret Co. Sheriff arrests 4 people for drug charges

BEAUFORT, N.C. (WNCT) – The Carteret County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people in its ninth round of “Operation Who’s Next” for various drug charges. The Sheriff’s Office reports a total of 82 arrests were made in this operation.

Joshua Barefoot

Joshua Andrew Barefoot, 30, of Oscar Hill Rd. in Newport, N.C. is charged with the following:

  • Two counts – possession of drug paraphernalia
  • One count – possession marijuana up to 1/2 ounce
  • One count – reckless driving to endanger
  • One count – no operator’s license
  • One count – driving motor vehicle with no registration
  • One count – operating vehicle with no insurance
  • One count – operating vehicle with expired or no inspection

Barefoot has a $1,000 secured bond.

Clyde Johnson, Jr.
Clyde Johnson, Jr.

Clyde Wendell Johnson, Jr., 25, of Merrimon Rd. in Beaufort, N.C. is charged with the following:

  • Two counts – sell and deliver cocaine
  • One count – possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine

Johnson has a $5,000 secured bond.

Vernon Nolan, Jr.
Vernon Nolan, Jr.

Vernon Lee Nolan, Jr., 29, of Adams Creek Rd. in Havelock, N.C., is charged with the following:

  • Three counts – maintaining vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substance
  • Two counts – possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine
  • Two counts – sell and deliver cocaine
  • Two counts – sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance
  • One count – possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver schedule II controlled substance

Nolan has a $25,000 secured bond.

Alexis Taylor
Alexis Taylor

Alexis Nicole Taylor, 17, of Highway 24 in Newport, N.C. is charged with the following:

  • Two counts – possession of drug paraphernalia
  • One count – possession marijuana up to 1/2 ounce

She has a $0 bond.
