NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – A man and woman are behind bars on drugs and weapons charges after complaints on the high volume of traffic at a New Bern home.
Police say a search warrant executed at a Hartford Avenue residence on Wednesday turned up crack cocaine and a gun.
The man and woman arrested by the Coastal Narcotics Enforcement Team were 37-year-old Annette Ranee Smith and 58-year-old William Rodgers Swain Sr.
Smith was charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance, Maintain Vehicle/Dwelling for Keeping/Selling Controlled Substance and Simple Possession of Marijuana. She was held on a $16,000 secured bond.
Swain was arrested for Possession with the Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver a Controlled Substance. He was held on a $7,500 secured bond.
The Coastal Narcotic Enforcement Team is comprised of sworn law enforcement detectives from the New Bern Police Department, Craven County Sheriff’s Office, Carteret County Sheriff’s Office, Jones County Sheriff’s Office, Havelock Police Department, Trent Woods Police Department, River Bend Police Department, Bridgeton Police Department and Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office.
