Flood waters receding in several parts of Morehead City

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WNCT) – Flood waters are receding in several parts of Morehead City.

One area in particular is at North 20th and Blair Farm Parkway. The deepest spots of water are just below knee level.

On the list of concerns are areas that aren’t well illuminated and cars not reducing their speeds along 20th Street.

“Most of them will take this easy. Most of them know what’s going on here. It’s not a big area right here in our entrance so, you gotta come to a stop sign anyway,” explained Tom Outlaw with the Blair Farm Homeowner’s Association. He says he hopes all the water will recede.

Carteret County manager Russell Overman says flood waters should begin to recede.
