Deputies: Driver rescued from sinking car in Pamlico Co.

BAYBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – The Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office says a man had to br rescued after losing control of his car in a flooded road.

It happened just before 5 o’clock on Monday morning.

Deputies say a man was driving on Bay City Road near the bridge when he hit an area of tidal flooding and lost control of his car. The car ended up in a canal near the road.

Deputies and Pamlico County Emergency Management were able to rescue the man after he got out of his car.

The driver was not injured during the incident.
