ECU Police get early start prepping for Halloween

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – It’s only the first day of October, but ECU police are already planning for the last day.

Prep for this year’s Halloween started the day after last Halloween — when a party turned riot, at an off-campus student housing complex. An ECU transit bus was severely damaged.

ECU Police have been working diligently ever since, in particular to modify bus routes to prevent issues like last year.

Lieutenant Chris Sutton says they’re developing a strategic transportation hub to minimize problems.

“We want to be able to provide alternative and safe transportation, but we don’t want to provide transportation that can contribute to some additional problems or overcrowding,” Lt. Sutton said.

They’re working throughout the month with Greenville Police, the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, and various other agencies to finalize plans.
