Deputies: Car runs off road hits a utility pole in New Bern

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – A woman faces charges after her car hits a pole in New Bern.

The Highway Patrol tells 9 On Your Side it happened just after 6a.m. on Dry Monia Road near NC-55.

Troopers says a distracted driver ran off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole.

Highway Patrol says the west shoulder lane of Dry Monia Road is closed as crews repair the utility pole.

Drivers should expect delays.

Troopers say the driver, Junika Dunn, was charged for reckless driving.
