Conley stuns Rose to highlight “Touchdown Monday”

GREENVILLE (WNCT) –  Sophomore quarterback Holton Ahlers threw three touchdown passes in the second half to lead DH Conley to a 37-14 win over rival JH Rose in the Eastern Carolina 4A/3A opener for both teams.

Rose star Cornell Powell gave the Rampants the early lead with a 98-yard punt return for a touchdown. That would prove to be one of the few highlights for Powell and the Ramapants on a rainy night at Conley.

The Rampants led 14-10 at halftime but the Conley defense played by far its best game of the season, and shut out Rose in the second half.
