Landline phone service outage in Currituck county

GIBBS WOODS, N.C. (WNCT)- Landline phone service in the Gibbs Woods area of Currituck County is out of service.

The 911 center has generated a repair ticket with CenturyLink.  It’s reported that landline subscribers cannot make any outgoing calls. Because of this, the 911 center is unable to re-route calls to another number for emergencies.

Residents from the affected area have said they can make calls from a wireless phone. If 911 services are needed, try calling from a cell phone. If your service is affected and you have access to a cell phone, please report the trouble to CenturyLink at 800-788-3600.
