Coast Guard rescues 80-year-old woman

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (WNCT)- An 80-year-old woman is recovering after the Coast Guard rescued her from a Carnival Pride cruise ship.

Sector North Carolina watchstanders got the call around 2 p.m. Saturday, saying the woman was on board and suffering health complications.

The helicopter crew arrived at Carnival Pride at 3:15 p.m. and hoisted the woman from the boat.

She was flown to Carteret General Urgent Care in Morehead City. She was last reported in stable condition.
