“Operation Medicine Drop” kicks off Saturday

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Jacksonville Police Department’s Community Services Division is holding Operation Medicine Drop this Saturday, September 26th.

Operation Medicine Drop is a program to fight drug abuse, protect people and pets against accidental ingestions, and to help keep our area waterways safe and clean.

Citizens are asked to bring their unused, unwanted, or expired medications to drop off locations on Saturday, September 26th from 10:00 to 2:00 PM.

Participating drop off locations in the City are:
• Walgreens 359 Western Blvd (near the Mall)
• Walgreens 1600 Gum Branch Rd

The event provides convenient, safe and anonymous disposal of prescription medications.
