Local couple shares their ECU gameday engagement

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT)- It was a big day in Dowdy-Ficklen… and not just for the football team.

ECU alum Josh Creel ’11 popped the question to his girlfriend (now fiancée) Amy Smith ’14 just before the ECU Virginia Tech kickoff Saturday.

Amy tells WNCT the couple connected through mutual friends and started dating in August 2014.

Josh works as the sports turf grass assistant manager for ECU and is the business owner at Fin n Feather Creations. Amy is a recreational therapist at Caswell Development Center in Kinston. The couple hails from Grifton and Winterville, respectively.

Amy tells us they plan on having a summer 2016 wedding.

WNCT congratulates the happy couple!
