Community works to feed senior citizens in need

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A food drive was held for senior citizens in our community Saturday.

The Churches Outreach Network provides meals for hundreds of senior citizens in our area. Each month, they organize a drive to distribute food to those in need.

“We have actually over 80 that come in and get it today. We actually distribute it to 232 senior citizens. We have a van and we deliver those during the week days. And these here that are able to come, they’re here,” said Rodney Coles Sr. with Churches Outreach Network.

Vans donate to those who are unable to make it to the facility in Greenville.

The North Carolina Food Bank, Walmart, Fresh Market, and various other vendors donate the food.
