Windsor police search for shooting suspect

WINDSOR, N.C. (WNCT) – The Windsor Police Department is looking for the suspect in a Thursday night shooting.

Police say 33-year-old Tyree Bond is accused of shooting Floyd Creecy, Jr. on Cedar Street in Winsdor around 7:30 p.m.

EMS crews found Creecy lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound and transported him to Vidant Bertie Hospital.

Creecy was then flown to Vidant Medical Center.

According to Detective Sergeant Justin Jackson with WPD, Bond and Creecy had an altercation.

Detective Sergeant Jackson says Bond then got a shotgun and fired once a Creecy in close range.

Bond ran from the scene and has yet to be located.

Officers from the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the scene to assist with crowd control.
