Local, state, and national religious leaders to gather for Launch Out Conference

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT)- Local, state, and national community and religious leaders are gathering this weekend for the 5th annual Launch Out Conference.

The three day event starts Friday and runs through Sunday. Leaders will convene at  St. Peters AME Zion Church on 617 Queen Street in New Bern. The church is across from the town’s police department.

More than 350 people are registered for the conference. There are workshops set up on grant funding, community building, and sustainable programs throughout the weekend.

Notable speakers include world-renowned pastor and speaker Dr. John M. Perkins, and former state senator Malcom Graham. Also, speaking during the conference will be Dr. Rev. Laura Early, pastor of All God’s Children United Methodist Church.

A closing service of unity will be held on Sunday, September 27th at 10:00am at Peletah in New Bern.
