Aviation company opens second location in Lenoir County

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – North State Aviation, the company bringing more than 100 jobs to Kinston is already off the ground.

The company brought in staff to repair their first plane, and it left this morning.

On Monday, Governor Pat McCrory made the announcement that north state aviation was opening a second location in Lenoir County.

The company’s focus is maintenance planes.

VP of Maintenance Russel Kota says their was a lot of planning to get the first plane serviced in a week.

“We had to haul specialized equipment down here and we had to review all the paperwork and make sure we have all the materials to do the work, there was about a week of pre-planning to do that and loading it and getting it down here in the wee hours of the morning,” said Kota.

North State Aviation plans to start hiring full time employees in the next few weeks.
