New Bern man arrested for allegedly stealing firearm

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT)-  One New Bern man is arrested for allegedly stealing a firearm.

New Bern Police say it happened Saturday night at 8 p.m. during a vehicle stop on Oaks Rd.

Travon Marlowe, 21, from New Bern was arrested after investigators say he was in possession of a stolen semi-automatic handgun.

The victim previously reported to the Atlantic Beach Police Department that the gun had been stolen.

Marlowe is being held at the Craven County Jail on $8,000 bond and is appearing in court on Monday.

He is charged with felony possession of stolen firearm, misdemeanor carrying concealed gun, and misdemeanor with simple possession.
