Raleigh Police Officer loses home in fire

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – A Raleigh Police officer’s condominium was destroyed in a fire Saturday morning, police said.

The fire started in a unit located in a building at 8250 Hempshire Place and occurred just after 10:30 a.m. The fire took approximately 30 minutes to get under control.

No one was injured, but one unit was too heavily damaged to stay in, police said. Two people were displaced.

People not directly affected by the fire were allowed to return to their homes early Saturday afternoon.
